AI Transformation for Telematics Companies: AI That Talks to Your Trackers
RNDSquare connects AI agents to your fleet platform and to the telematics devices in your customers' vehicles. The agent verifies who is calling, checks the tracker live, fixes what it can over the air and turns every case into data for warranty, stock and predictive fleet insights.

The problem
Why telematics support is so expensive
Most telematics support calls sound the same: my vehicle is not showing on the map, the location is old, fuel readings jumped, the ignition alert is wrong. Behind each one is a question only the device can answer. Is it powered? Does it have a GPS fix? Is the SIM on the network? Was it wired correctly?
Today a support person opens three tools to find out, the customer waits, and many cases end with an installer visit that was never needed. Meanwhile the patterns behind those calls, a bad batch of antennas, a vehicle model that keeps draining backup batteries, an installer who wires ignition wrong, stay hidden in tickets nobody analyses.
The loop
AI, fleet platform and device working as one
Ask
A fleet manager, driver or installer calls or messages on WhatsApp.
Verify
The AI agent authenticates them on the live call or chat with a one-time code, and checks which vehicles they are allowed to see.
Read
It checks the tracker live: last report, GPS fix, signal strength, main and backup power, ignition state and CAN data.
Act
It sends approved commands to the device, such as a location request, a reboot or a configuration refresh.
Learn
The case, the device data and the outcome flow into the knowledge base, tickets, warranty records and fleet analytics.
Where AI adds value
Where AI adds value across your telematics business
Support that diagnoses the device in seconds
"My truck is not showing" becomes a 30-second answer: the device lost main power at 14:05 and is on backup battery, or it has no GPS fix because the antenna is covered, or the SIM has run out of data. The agent explains it in plain words, sends a reboot or configuration refresh if that will fix it, and books an installer only when the problem is physical.
Installer support during fitting
Installers can call the agent from the vehicle. It confirms the device is online, checks the first GPS fix, verifies ignition detection, confirms CAN data is arriving and activates the unit on the right account. Wrong installations are caught before the installer leaves, not a week later by an angry customer.
Fleet manager assistant
Fleet managers can ask questions in plain language on WhatsApp or by phone: which vehicles idled more than two hours yesterday, where is vehicle 14 right now, why did the fuel level drop last night. The agent answers from live and historical data the manager is allowed to see.
Sales, quotes and onboarding
The agent answers fleet enquiries, explains device options and plans, books demos, prepares quotes from your price list and collects the details needed for onboarding: vehicle list, models, installation sites and contacts.
Subscriptions and renewals
It reminds customers before plans or SIM data run out, answers billing questions after verification, and processes renewals, so devices do not go silent because an invoice was missed.
A knowledge base built from real cases
Wiring guides per vehicle model, CAN parameter notes, configuration commands and error explanations are kept in one place. Every resolved case becomes a draft answer for your team to approve, so the next installer gets it right the first time.
Warranty and RMA with device evidence
Before a return is approved, the agent checks the IMEI or serial number, warranty status and device history: power events, modem resets, GPS fix quality and firmware version. Healthy devices with wiring or SIM issues are fixed in the field instead of shipped back. Claims are tagged by batch and fault, showing which component or supplier is behind them.
Production, provisioning and stock
Production test results are tied to each IMEI, so field failures can be traced to the batch and test record. Devices are pre-configured and paired with SIMs per customer before dispatch. Stock forecasts combine the sales pipeline, renewals and return rates, so you hold the right number of devices, SIMs, harnesses and antennas.
Predictive device and vehicle health
The loop watches for early signs: backup batteries that drain faster, devices that reboot more often, signal that keeps dropping in one region. From the vehicle's CAN bus it also reads fault codes, so fleets get maintenance warnings before a breakdown.
Security
Controlled access and live authentication
Verification on the live call or chat
A one-time code before any location or vehicle data is shared.
Role-based access
A driver sees their own vehicle, a fleet manager sees their fleet, an installer sees only the devices on the current job.
Location privacy
Vehicle locations are shared only with verified, authorised people, and every request is logged.
Guardrails against manipulation
Instructions hidden in messages are treated as plain text, never as commands.
Full audit trail
Every lookup and every command is recorded.
Control
Control back to the device, within limits you set
| # | Command to the device | Example | Safeguard |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Request location | Fleet manager asks where a vehicle is now | Verified, authorised user only |
| 2 | Reboot device | Recover a tracker that stopped reporting | Daily limit per device |
| 3 | Configuration refresh | Fix wrong reporting interval or server settings | Approved templates only |
| 4 | Geofence and alert setup | Add a depot geofence for a customer | Customer's own account only |
| 5 | Firmware update | Update a batch with a known modem issue | Human approval, staged rollout |
| 6 | Output control, such as an immobiliser relay | Stop a stolen vehicle from restarting | Two-step verification, human approval, vehicle stationary only, and only where your policy and local law allow |
Intelligence
From support calls to fleet intelligence
The loop joins data that usually lives apart: device health, vehicle CAN data, trips, alerts, conversation topics, installer jobs, warranty claims and stock movements. Together they answer the questions that grow a telematics business: which devices will fail next, which vehicle models need a different harness, which customers are about to churn, and how many units to build next quarter.

Who builds it
Why RNDSquare
RNDSquare designs telematics hardware, including our own RD80 telematics unit built on Quectel GNSS and LTE modules, and has delivered telematics validation, firmware-over-the-air and fleet app projects for clients. We understand what happens inside the device, on the network and in the platform. We also run our own voice and WhatsApp AI agents, so we build with tools we use every day.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does AI transformation mean for a telematics company?
+
Connecting AI agents to your devices, fleet platform and business systems, so support, installation, sales, warranty and stock run on live device data.
Can the AI diagnose a tracker that is offline?
+
Yes. It checks the last report, power events, signal and GPS history to find out why, and tells the customer what happened and what happens next.
Can it send commands to our devices?
+
Yes, through your device server, within limits you set. Sensitive commands such as immobilisation always need human approval and strict conditions.
Does it work with devices from other makers?
+
Yes, if your platform or device server exposes their data and commands through an API.
How does it protect location data?
+
Locations are shared only with verified, authorised users, and every request is logged.
Can it predict vehicle problems?
+
Yes, where the device reads the vehicle's CAN bus. Fault codes and trends become maintenance warnings before a breakdown.
Where do we start?
+
With a readiness workshop, then one agent for the most common support case before expanding.
