Problem Statement

Security checkpoints, toll plazas, and parking facilities needed a reliable way to automatically identify vehicles and control access. Standard CCTV cameras couldn't keep up, motion blur and low frame rates caused missed or misread plates on fast-moving vehicles. Manual verification was slow, inconsistent, and unable to handle high-traffic entry points effectively.

Our Solution

We built an ALPR system using a 600fps high-speed camera sensor that captures sharp, blur-free plate images even from fast-moving vehicles. An embedded OCR engine performs on-device license plate recognition, no cloud required with support for multiple plate formats. Every recognized plate is instantly checked against a whitelist or blacklist vehicle database, triggering relay outputs to open or block access gates and barriers automatically. Recognition events are pushed to a central management platform over Ethernet, and a web dashboard provides full recognition logs, vehicle history, and alert management.

Insights & Outcomes

600fps capture eliminates motion blur, making plate recognition accurate even at high vehicle speeds. On-device OCR processes everything locally, no cloud, no latency and instantly matches each plate against a whitelist or blacklist to trigger gate and barrier control via relay output. The system connects to existing access control infrastructure and pushes all recognition events to a central dashboard for logging and alert management. A 72-hour live pilot validated recognition accuracy, false positive rate, and gate response time before full deployment.
